MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
As the name (an acronym for French wines’ regional certification) would suggest, this Mediterranean bijou lives up to its moniker with a serious book of Californian and European varietals. The vibe is casual and cozy, with rustic furniture, fireplaces and a charming brick patio adorned with olive trees. From 5:00-7:00P.M., treat yourself to cocktails with focaccia and cheese pairings. Their focus on produce is clear in everything from a lunchtime farmer's salad to the peppery arugula that may garnish a fillet of Arctic char. Then proceed to small plates fired in the wood-burning oven or premium charcuterie. Desserts are beautifully executed, especially the bittersweet chocolate torte topped with coffee cream, medjool dates and candied hazelnuts.
