From its home in the posh Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel, this luxuriously designed dining room feels like a cross between the French countryside and the Hamptons. Topiaries guide you outside to the lovely black-and-white dining patio. The clientele looks as casually elegant as the setting and seems to carry an air of privilege, augmented by the occasional security guard hovering around a high profile table. The menu features classic cooking techniques always done right. The perfectly cheesy and decadent risotto is rich with earthy flavors from mushrooms and asparagus, then topped with pecorino and bits of sea salt. For dessert, a deconstructed baked Alaska tastes like Hawaii, thanks to layers of coconut sorbet and toasted Marcona almonds.
