MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Straight out of Sichuan comes this bustling hot pot chain, whose name means “fortune." Much like the Westfield Santa Anita Complex it calls home, the gorgeous restaurant is massive in scale, with tables in every direction and a dipping sauce buffet stretching down the center of the room.
Diners each have their own pot, so you can season your soup base to your liking (if your pot gets too fiery, for example, just remove those chilies and peppercorns). Raw ingredients, from premium beef and sweet shrimp to scallops and clams, are pristine in quality; the servers are friendly and equipped with iPads and earpieces. Ask them for help on your sauces, and they will likely put together something that’s leagues better than what you had in mind.
