At 61 years of age, the snowy-haired much-lauded chef is no stranger to Michelin stars; in fact, Alain Ducasse was the first chef to own 3 three-Michelin-starred restaurants across three different cities. He currently owns over 20 restaurants around the world.
Now, he will be opening a restaurant in Singapore in 2019, and it will be located in the Raffles Hotel.
At the (very) recent 2018 MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong and Macau gala dinner held at the City of Dreams in Macau, the quirky chef/restaurateur tells us about his decision to open in Singapore: "I like Singapore. I know Singapore from a long time ago and I consider it a new destination for gastronomy and wine lovers. Many people collect beautiful wines in Singapore, and wine pairing with beautiful food is a great pleasure for my guests."
The concept, though, remains "confidential" for now, as Ducasse refines his vision for this upcoming launch.
Ducasse opened Rech by Alain Ducasse in Hong Kong earlier this year, the first international outpost of his Parisian seafood restaurant. It received one Michelin star at the recent gala ceremony. He will also be opening two new restaurants in Macau next year.
