The Roseate Reading
Heritage hotels often have poky little rooms, but the Roseate was more thoroughly renovated than most, and its floor plan is entirely modern — the superior rooms are by no means small, and the suites are downright expansive. All have plentiful historical character, along with all the comforts of a modern hotel, including underfloor heating and walk-in showers.
A private cinema seats up to 30 — not every luxury hotel can say that — while the Reading Room is among the top local restaurants, and is accompanied by a lounge featuring an elaborate afternoon tea service. It’s an attractive hotel, a comfortable hotel, and if it’d be a contender in the capital, in Berkshire it’s a champion.

Fantastic cocktails!
Fabulous, independent hotel in a period building right in the centre of Reading. Walking distance to train station, business, shopping and restaurants. Staff always helpful and cheerful. I prefer the rooms in the main period building which are more traditional, the rooms in the modern extension are more austere, minimalist with very low beds.
The reception staff were charming. The room was spacious and well appointed. The cocktails in the bar are exceptional. There is a feeling of serenity about this hotel. The price is also good.
It is an extremely comfortable and cosseting hotel. We would not consider staying anywhere else in Reading
