Set on a leafy square in the 3rd arrondissement, a short stroll from Le Marais, Solly Hotel was once the home of the architect Salomon de Caus, a true Renaissance man if there ever was one. Rooms are quaint and compact with parquet floors, a sleek black, white, and beige color scheme, gallery-like walls lined with framed oil paintings and lithographs, and chic speckled marble bathrooms. All rooms are bright with natural light, with some facing the interior courtyard and others with balconies overlooking the square below; a select few offer glimpses of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. A neighborhood boulangerie supplies fresh bread and pastries for the breakfast buffet, an open kitchen welcomes guests to stop by for a cheese plate and glass of wine, and a series of stylish living rooms offer ample lounge space to sip coffee and plan the day’s adventures.
