If you think Sichuan food is all about the heat, think again. The chef who once helmed the famous Deng Ji Shi Yuan in Shanghai has created a menu of eight different taste profiles, such as sweet and sour, home-style or Wula. Recommendations include rare gems that are tedious to make and hard to find elsewhere, such as chicken tofu soup and minced chicken with crab roe. The classic mouth-watering chicken made with local Ping Yuen birds is unmissable.
