From Thailand’s first Three Stars to a brand-new Two Star, plus four fresh One Stars and a Green Star shining bright, the eighth edition of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand serves culinary excellence.
While we won’t spill all the delicious details—scroll down for our Inspectors’ insights—standouts include progressive twists on tradition, unforgettable seasonal plates, and an ever-evolving dining scene that keeps raising the bar.
With all these dazzling additions, it’s clear: the Land of Smiles is also the Land of Stars.
The eighth edition of The MICHELIN Guide Thailand, with over 460 restaurants and eateries, showcases the country's abundant ingredients, dynamic tourism economy, and rich, diverse culinary landscape. From traditional Thai classics to modern innovations, the selection highlights the fusion of tradition, contemporary flair, and emerging trends.
This year, we’re excited to introduce Chon Buri – Thailand’s vibrant Eastern region – to the MICHELIN stage. Known for its picturesque beaches, lively culture, and seafood dishes bursting with sweetness and freshness, Chon Buri has captivated our Inspectors.
2024 marks a milestone for Thailand’s gastronomic rise on the global stage, with talented chefs refining their craft and delivering exceptional dining experiences. A new wave of young Thai chefs, under 35, are pushing boundaries by infusing modern sophistication into traditional dishes while staying rooted in local culture.
Meanwhile, humble eateries continue to shine, offering authentic dishes passed down through generations – local favourites that gather friends and families. As Thailand attracts foreign chefs, exchanging expertise enriches the fine dining scene, strengthening ties with local talent.
Sustainability remains a priority, with chefs embracing local sourcing and eco-friendly practices, supported by the Green Stars guiding the way.
It remains a country where you can eat remarkably well and, importantly, at an appealingly pocket-friendly price. Diners will surely find something that suits their taste in Thailand's robust restaurants.
