Named for a castle that was destroyed in the 17th century, Schloss Reinach has plenty of history to draw on — but after multipel rounds of renovation and reinvention it’s expanded from a manor house into a modern 98-room luxury hotel. Most of the accommodations are clean-lined and contemporary, while others remain in the classic style — but it’s more an antique vibe than a detailed reconstruction. Comforts throughout are first-rate, including the expansive spa and wellness center, and the Schloss Reinach’s culinary offerings are extensive as well, from high-end regional fare in the fine dining restaurant to an unpretentious summertime barbecue.
