5 Unique Turkey Renditions For Your Christmas Dinner This 2017

These jazzed-up turkeys will be the centrepiece on any dining table.

It’s tradition to have a roasted turkey during the Christmas season, but that doesn’t mean your main meat always has to be served stuffed and roasted the same way. This festive season, break tradition with these bold-flavoured birds.

1. Treasure Trove Turkey
At Goodwood Park, master chef Goh Chee Kong of Cantonese restaurant Min Jiang at One-North has come up with a 12 Treasures Turkey that brings together the most luxe ingredients in Cantonese cuisine. Here, the bird is marinated overnight with soy sauce and Shaoxing wine, then stuffed with 24-head abalones, roast pork, fresh chestnuts, conpoy, shiitake mushrooms and salted egg yolks for a plump, flavourful turkey. 22 Scotts Rd, Goodwood Park Hotel

2. Turkey On The Tandoor
At one Michelin-starred The Song Of India, director of cuisine Manjunath Mural gives things a festive spin by marinating turkey overnight in sauces and spices such as Kashmiri chili powder, tandoori garam masala, and cumin before grilling it in the tandoor oven. The tender bird is then stuffed with morel briyani and served with a sweet tomato-based wine sauce. 33 Scotts Road
3. That’s One Thirsty Turkey
Known for their creative Christmas turkeys like Amalfi Lemon and Lavender, Regent Singapore doesn’t disappoint again this year. Inspiration this tome comes from the drunken chicken dish in one Michelin-starred Summer Palace, married with the barrel-aged spirits and cocktails in the Manhattan bar’s Rickhouse. Here, the turkey is left to soak up a marinade made with Plantation 2002 thrice-aged rum, herbs and chestnuts, then slow-cooked before it is finished off in the oven. 1 Cuscaden Road

4. Turkey Gone Local
At the Atrium Restaurant in Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, the bird is first rubbed with laksa paste then stuffed with local herbs and baked in a salt crust. The salt-baked laksa turkey comes in a set with a prawn platter, barbecued meats and desserts such as mango pudding with pomelo and sago. 5. Satay-style Turkey
Bib Gourmand-rated restaurant Peony Jade looks towards local snack, satay, as an inspiration for their Christmas turkey. Here, their Pineapple-Satay Roasted Turkey is rubbed thrice with satay and pineapple sauce, accompanied by sides of ketupat, onion, cucumber and pineapple. Keppel Club, 10 Bukit Chermin Road.
