In a city teeming with high quality fish and designer brands, this Peruvian restaurant might be one of the best perches to make the most of both. Located in the Miami Design Center, the family-run, Nikkei-inspired Itamae started out as a simple counter in 2018 before relocating to the ground floor of an open-air court.
A clever, curated selection of bright, electrifying cebiches, colorful tiraditos and creative maki dazzle in full view of stores like Van Cleef and Hublot. Cooked dishes are just as impressive, like tender swordfish served with sweet Murasaki potatoes and sarza criolla, or conchitas à la parmesana, a bold combination of Hokkaido scallops resting atop avocado rolls, blanketed in bubbling parmesan and finished with lime.
