Mere minutes outside of Blackburn, in the picturesque Ribble Valley, Northcote is a country-house hotel with a reputation for culinary excellence. And though it’s far from the only hotel in England to merit such a description, it’s been at it for longer than most of them: the restaurant was awarded its first MICHELIN Star in 1996. And while the table is still the primary draw, the rest of the experience is anything but an afterthought. Each of the 26 rooms and suites is different, though all are uniformly luxurious, and perhaps surprisingly contemporary in their style and comforts. The hotel’s cooking school is among its most popular recreational offerings.
