3HB Faro

The Algarve city of Faro is no stranger to tourism, but at the time of 3HB Faro’s opening, this kind of urban luxury resort was without local precedent. The location is central, right in the pedestrianized heart of this compact city. And while the phrase “urban resort” is often meant loosely, it’s entirely apt here — witness the rooftop pool, lined with loungers, that looks out not over a beach but over the rooftops of Faro’s city center.

In its scale, too, 3HB Faro feels something like a resort. Its rooms and suites number just over a hundred, and come equipped with substantial comforts — some of them feature hydromassage tubs or jacuzzis on private terraces. Meanwhile a focused color palette and an uncluttered approach to decoration results in a handsome and photogenic look.

The spa and wellness center is an extensive one, featuring an indoor pool and a sauna and Turkish bath alongside its gym and treatment rooms. Forno Nero, an Italian restaurant, is joined by the rooftop Hábito, serving classic Algarve and Mediterranean flavors with a far-ranging view. Meanwhile all of the city of Faro is within walking distance, and the beaches are a short drive away.
