MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
Itacoa is the name of a magnificent, windswept Brazilian beach, not far from where Rafael Gomes grew up. The young chef, winner of Brazil's Master Chef TV contest, delivers uninhibited market-fresh cuisine replete with international influences paying homage to his travels; a few nods to Brazil or Latin America in certain dishes (eg tacos, casquinha). He makes a point of respecting the seasons and working in partnership with a handful of carefully selected small-scale producers.
