Modern Design & Lively
Oxford’s Old Bank Hotel is, to begin with, exactly what its rather understated name promises: a well-preserved 18th-century bank building, right on Oxford High Street, behind whose Georgian façade you’ll find a hotel that’s among the most stylish and the most luxurious lodgings in town.

This is, of course, a rare combination, especially in a city as historically minded as Oxford. The key, as in so many fine hotels, is taste. What’s luxurious about the Old Bank is never ostentatious or over-the-top, and even at their most visually distinctive, the interiors are subtle and restrained.

Rooms vary in size and layout, as befits a hotel that’s called on to host all manner of guests, but all come with such substantial comforts as Wildsmith bath products and hand-crafted EPOC mattresses. The location could hardly be more prominent or convenient; Radcliffe Camera and the Bodleian Library are just across the road. And the Old Bank has much to offer guests who stay in, including Quod, a versatile restaurant and bar serving a menu of European classics made from fresh British ingredients.
