For a fine drinking experience paired with food rather than the other way around, stop at this speakeasy, nestled within Amor y Amargo. Once guests are assembled, a sliding door opens to reveal a well-lit space with tiles of varying shape and a stocked bar. The counter, though, is where the fireworks unfurl.
Along with partner Ravi DeRossi, Sother Teague expanded this matchbox-sized bar to offer a tasting menu. The only caveat—the former butcher-turned-barkeep is focused on vegan cuisine. Highlights include crisp orange-scented cauliflower with raisin-caper emulsion or beans on toast with garlic confit, blistered tomatoes, and mint oil. Drinks are nuanced and a point of pride, as in Zipper Skin with Southern Amaro or CAB with Branca Menta.
