Soho House Holloway

The original Soho House could only have been established in London, a city with a history of members’-only clubs, and a place where the film, theatre, and art worlds are packed shoulder-to-shoulder; the concept translated fairly easily to downtown Manhattan as well. And here in West Hollywood, with a bit of adaptation, is a slightly sunnier version of the Soho House concept, in the form of the 34-room Holloway House.

Its location places it close to the storied nightlife of the Sunset Strip, but that’s almost secondary; Holloway House, like any Soho House establishment, doesn’t need to be close to the action — it is the action. Its Club restaurant, its Mandolin Mezze rooftop terrace, and its Club-adjacent Bar and Library are among the hottest tickets in town, and they’re for members only — which, if you’re an overnight guest, includes you, for the duration of your stay.

The rooms, of course, are perfectly capable of standing on their own. The Soho House style is roughly equal parts carefully composed contemporary design and eclectic, bohemian personality, and though the comforts are subtle, they’re decidedly high-end — and Soho House’s clientele, drawn largely from the Los Angeles creative industries, appreciates the attention to detail.
