Modern Design & Happening
Less than an hour outside of Reykjavík, on the road to Selfoss, is the Reykjadalur Valley, home not only to some spectacular landscapes but to an inspiring hotel as well: Gróðurhúsið, or, in English, the Greenhouse Hotel. Like many in Iceland it’s a modern building with a utilitarian streak, but it’s warmed by the innumerable indoor plants that give it its name. And while as a boutique hotel it stands on its own, it’s also got a food hall featuring a selection of global cuisines, as well as shops selling clothing and foodstuffs by local Icelandic purveyors.
