Château de Collias
8 Bis Chemin du Barry, Collias, France

Contemporary Classic & Quiet
In the Occitan village of Collias, a short distance from Uzès, stands an edifice whose foundations were laid a thousand years ago. Today’s Château Collias is less ancient than it sounds — its medieval core has been augmented by Renaissance expansions, an 18th-century façade, and a 19th-century renovation in an Italianate style. And now, of course, what you’ll find inside is a thoroughly modern, thoroughly 21st-century luxury hotel experience.
For that you can thank the owners, Christophe Tailleur and Philippe Huber, both experienced hospitality professionals; here they’ve kept in place all the history and all the atmosphere of the Château’s thousand years of history, while providing its eight bedrooms with all the modern must-haves, including Nespresso machines and high-end local bath products.
The estate’s expansive park offers plenty of opportunity for immersion in nature, whether by the poolside or contemplating a view of the UNESCO-listed Gorges du Gardon Natural Reserve. Farther afield, you’ll find sights like the Roman-era Pont du Gard, as well as the picturesque town of Uzès and the cities of Nimes and Avignon. Leave time for the artfully prepared local cuisine of the Château’s restaurant, a MICHELIN Guide selection.
