H10 Palacio Colomera

Córdoba had its historical heyday back in the 8th century, when hundreds of mosques and civic buildings were constructed following the Moorish conquest. In comparison with the city’s much older landmarks, Palacio Colomera, built in 1928, is practically brand new — but this elegant palace on Plaza de las Tendillas, rising up four stories and flanked by a pair of decorative towers, is a stunner nonetheless. The property was snapped up by H10 Hotels in 2016 and transformed into a boutique hotel with streamlined, Scandinavian-inspired interiors and a rooftop terrace facing the city’s famous Mosque-Cathedral.

The street-level lobby opens onto a café and the palace’s original Andalusian patio. The simplest rooms overlook the patio and its gardens, while larger suites have private furnished terraces with views over the UNESCO-honored historic center. The décor is elegant and minimalist, with pale wood floors, a neutral color palette, and charcoal gray-tiled bathrooms with walk-in showers and Japanese appliances. Sunny duplex suites offer plenty of extra space, featuring living rooms on both floors. A breakfast buffet is laid out each day in a room with high coffered ceilings and original Spanish artworks, but the hotel’s undisputed highlight is the gorgeous rooftop bar, serving tapas and festive cocktails every evening as the sun goes down.
