This longstanding restaurant has thrived for decades serving kongbiji, a hearty peasant stew made from pureed soybeans. The founding matriarch of the establishment is still very much present, cooking alongside her daughter to this day. The pureed soybean stew here is made with soybeans ground to a smooth puree in a traditional stone grinder, resulting in a stew that is creamy and nutty. The self-serve side dishes that come in small pots are always generous.
