Patti Myint opened the original iteration of International Market in 1975. In 2022, her children, Anna and Arnold, relaunched the restaurant with two of the original cooks from the original restaurant. You'll still find the original's steam table specials with fried rice and curry offerings, as well as well-executed Thai classics like phad see ew and drunken noodles alongside newer items from Chef Arnold. It's all very casual, and you'll order directly from the steam counter or at the register, but expect delicious, soul-comforting dishes like steamed pork shumai served atop slaw with a drizzle of thick, sweet soy sauce and Patti's hot sauce. Pad kee mao features wide rice noodles wok-fried with Thai basil and chili and a pile of vegetables for a fresh take on drunken noodles.
