Located in the lively village of Guéthary on the Côte Basque, the family-run Hôtel Brikéténia is a classic French Basque getaway. The 17th-century farmhouse retains many of its original details in its new life as a boutique hotel, from cheerfully painted wooden shutters to terracotta tiles, but the interiors have been beautifully refurbished in a relaxed rustic-chic style with whitewashed walls and natural wood and stone details. Guest rooms are simple, quiet, and immaculately maintained, with crisp white linens and abundant natural light — the perfect retreat after walking along the beach or dining on the terrace at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant.
