Just inside the ancient city walls that encircle Antalya’s old town, Casa Sur is a beautifully realized retro-modern boutique hotel. Each of its fourteen rooms blends contemporary colors and design with antique elements and one-of-a-kind objects.The result is unique in the most literal sense of the word, but is also notable for the way it prizes character and personality above the ostentatious luxury you’ll find in so many of the region’s bigger, brasher hotels.
Every room is different; in some, rough-hewn stone walls dominate, while others are sleeker and more urban in inspiration. All are a heady blend of modern and classic, and all of them, however eclectic, feel carefully considered, down to the smallest detail. Breakfast and cocktails are both served (presumably at distinct hours of the day) in a lush, tranquil garden with a view of no less significant a Roman-era landmark than Hadrian’s Gate itself.
