MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Here you can enjoy authentic edomae tempura at reasonable prices. The focus is on seafood from Tokyo Bay, including anago, sillago and big-eyed flathead, and it’s fried in a blend of mainly cottonseed oil. The owner-chef uses Kaga vegetables such as lotus root and Gorojima sweet potato and, in spring, wild vegetables that his older brother sends from Niigata prefecture. The speciality is kakiage made with shrimp and honewort. It’s also suited to dinner parties.
