Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
The moniker ‘Bistro’ is a nod to owner-chef Shiga’s experience working in a wine bistro. He simmers vegetables in wine, then combines them with spices to make curry. Eschewing flour, he creates flavours that are smooth yet robustly flavourful. The Red, a yakuzen (Chinese medicinal) curry, is pungent with cardamom and ginger, while the Black is a fiery Kashmiri curry. Curries are accompanied by firm-cooked Koshihikari-brand rice.
