MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

The French painter Jean-François Millet was the inspiration behind the restaurant's name—Western culture being a major influence in the owner-chef Yuzo Nakao's hometown of Nagasaki, an international port city for centuries. Recognising that no two people have the same tastes, he welcomes guests with a varied menu of à la carte offerings. The surinagashi, using ingredients like young onion and chestnut, is a masterpiece of seasonal cuisine. Try the ‘Awabi Soba’ with a cup of sake.
