MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Here you can enjoy skilfully prepared Edo-style unagi, where the signature dish is ‘Unagi Tub’, featuring rice and unagi kabayaki in a cedar tub – the dish was devised for delivery to nearby ochaya. There are three sizes, for 3, 4 or 5 people, and the tubs are prepared by Living National Treasure, Kiyotsugu Nakagawa. After Edo-style steaming, it is grilled fluffy and golden over bincho charcoal.
