The Tuscan farmhouse hotel is a form of hospitality that needs little explanation; this one, in the Montalcino wine country, checks all the boxes. Mastrojanni Relais occupies a classic hilltop stone house, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and rolling hills as far as the eye can see. And while some relais hotels go it alone, this one is attached to the Mastrojanni winery, a local institution since 1975.
Inside the relais itself you’ll find rooms and suites that preserve the original farmhouse architecture and update it with contemporary colors, modern furniture, and minimalist murals by the artist Vittorio Corsini, resulting in a memorable visual signature. Meanwhile the other senses are treated to the timeless comforts of a food- and wine-focused Tuscan boutique hotel: the restaurant serves zero-kilometer cuisine in a space that spills out onto a terrace with a panoramic view of the countryside, accompanied by Mastrojanni wines.
