MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
Founded in 1981, Tambuah Mas specialises in Indonesian home-style cuisine from Padang, Sulawesi, and Java. The room hasn’t changed much since then, but regulars come here for the food, not the decor. Beef rendang curry is simple, but delicious. Tahu telor (fried tofu omelette) and kepala ikan istimewa (fish head in asam sauce) deliver big flavours and a nice balance. Traditional shaved ice desserts are the perfect end to a meal here.
