Beautiful hotel, well appointed rooms, cool art and furniture in the lobby. Check-in was easy and the beds were comfortable. Felt safe and secure inside the building. Downtown streets can be rowdy late at night. Noise was a problem. Even 20 floors up we heard loud music from passing vehicles and racing cars until 2 or 3 in the morning. Noise is slightly better on Sunday night than Saturday night. Not sure what the hotel can do - maybe provide earplugs for guests? Seems to be a Dallas noise ordinance issue. Perhaps they aren't enforcing it downtown. We stayed in the French Quarter for 2 nights before our trip to the Thompson and it was actually quieter in New Orleans. This has honestly never been an issue in other parts of Dallas we've stayed before. But it was very noticeable at this location.
