Modern Design & Lively
One MICHELIN Key · A very special stay
Some fine hotels are not revolutionary or unprecedented, but just quietly excellent. The Valrose, in the Swiss Alpine village of Rougemeont, is just such a place. Its 12 rooms all have views of the mountains — as does much of Rougemont — and they’re decorated in what the hotel calls a contemporary chalet style, updating the coziness of the traditional form for a boutique-hotel audience. As a pure lodging it’s quite worth a visit, but it’s got two more attractions — its restaurants, La Table du Valrose and Le Café Valrose, feature the inventive cooking of chef Benoît Carcenat.
