New London Restaurants in The MICHELIN Guide

Update your must-visit list with The MICHELIN Guide’s new London restaurants, all approved by our anonymous Inspectors.

With dozens of international cuisines represented across a dining scene that boasts over 80 MICHELIN-Starred establishments and 40+ Bib Gourmands, London is quite simply one of the best places to eat around the globe. With new London restaurants constantly opening and familiar favourites always evolving, here are the Inspectors’ latest additions to The MICHELIN Guide.

Seven restaurants have joined The MICHELIN Guide’s London selection this month, including several exciting new projects from renowned chefs. Legado comes from Sabor supremo Nieves Barragán Mohacho; Trinity’s Adam Byatt oversees the menu at Brasserie Constance; the Trivet team are serving up more wine-focused dining; and Michael Caines makes his first foray into London. Elsewhere, there are two fabulous Korean restaurants of completely different styles.

Brasserie Constance, Fulham

Modern British

Even the most ardent football sceptic could be persuaded to enter Craven Cottage stadium to visit this elegant British brasserie built into the Fulham FC ground’s Thameside stand. It forms part of the Fulham Pier development and it’s clear some money has been spent here, with a good-looking dining room and great river views. The cooking delivers a wide choice of modern and classic dishes executed with care.

Legado, Shoreditch

Spanish

One of the most anticipated London openings of the year, Legado has hit the ground running and then some. Coming from Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho, best known for MICHELIN-Starred Sabor, it shows off the best of Spanish cuisine across a vast array of dishes so good that they ensure you will still envy your fellow diners, no matter how much you order. The suckling pig dishes are not to be missed for enthusiasts.

Kruk, Peckham

Thai

It's a good time to be a Thai-food lover in London. With Supawan and viral sensation Singburi recently added to The MICHELIN Guide, now it’s South London’s turn with this terrific Peckham spot. With a rustic look and energetic vibe that feels reminiscent of Thailand itself, it’s a wonderfully relaxed and friendly place where the food will have you coming back again and again – especially if you’re a spice lover.

ssam ssam, Wimbledon

Korean

Wimbledon residents will want to make this family-run Korean bistro one of their go-to spots, while other Londoners should certainly consider hopping on the Tube to try its authentic and great value cooking. If you’re on a barbecue table, watch your choice of meat sizzling in front of you, and if you’re not, the bansang dishes all come with stand-out sides. Kimchi enthusiasts will be delighted by the wide choice on offer.

Somssi by Jihun Kim, Mayfair

Korean

Another excellent spot for Korean cuisine, Somssi is first and foremost a beautiful restaurant. Its marble countertop is strikingly impressive, while the entire room inside the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair imparts a feeling of real luxury. Chef Jihun Kim and his team ensure their cooking lives up the surroundings, with a tasting menu of expertly crafted dishes that bring a sophisticated touch to already superb ingredients.

Michael Caines at The Stafford, London

Modern Cuisine

The much-acclaimed chef Michael Caines (of MICHELIN-Starred Lympstone Manor fame) is known as a stalwart of Devon’s high-end dining scene. At The Stafford hotel, he has made his first foray into London – and what a delight it is to have him here. A selection of menus include dishes with his fingerprints all over them – like a tartlet of Newlyn Bay mackerel and brown crab custard – alongside more traditional British fare.

Modern Cuisine

The duo behind Two-MICHELIN-Star Trivet – Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal – have branched out with this fun, relaxed restaurant inside the modern and minimalist COMO Metropolitan hotel, albeit in a corner spot that comes with its own separate entrance. Lake’s cooking avoids overcomplication, in dishes such as grilled duck heart and cherry skewer. As at Trivet, Bal has curated a wonderful wine list filled with treasures.
