Dining out is one of life’s great pleasures, but it can be an expensive business at times. That’s why our Bib Gourmand restaurants are so valuable – they are the eateries we have rewarded for their quality cooking at a reasonable price. These are the restaurants where generosity is the order of the day, providing tremendous value for money without skimping on flavour. It is a genuine delight, therefore, to announce that this year there are 36 new Bib Gourmands in The MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2025. To all the chefs and restaurateurs featured in this list, congratulations on your commitment to reasonably priced dining.

Scotland
GaGa, Glasgow
We begin in the host city of this year’s MICHELIN Guide Ceremony, where two restaurants have been awarded a Bib Gourmand. The first is GaGa, a fun and fresh restaurant from Malaysian-Scottish chef Julie Swee Lin. A successor to her previous venture, Julie’s Kopitiam, GaGa is a bright delight that never backs away from bold flavours.Margo, Glasgow
The team behind Ox and Finch and Ka Pao have another Bib-worthy hit on their hands in the thriving Glasgow dining scene. Like its siblings, Margo delivers eminently satisfying food that’s low on frills and big on flavour – wrapped up in a busy, well-run restaurant with a crackling atmosphere. The dishes take a Mediterranean slant, but Scottish produce is at their heart.Skua, Edinburgh
It’s been a strong year for Edinburgh, with two new One-Star restaurants alongside this sensibly priced spot. One of two projects in the north of the city from Chef Tomás Gormley, Skua is a compact place serving a suitably concise menu of small plates; each one packs in plenty of flavour, thanks to the quality of the produce and the skill of the chefs.![Reasonably priced and utterly delicious seafood is the order of the day at Fish Shop in Ballater. © Alex Macleod](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/83a8921e90c5459c9773636459e96376_Fish_Shop_New_Bibs.jpg)
Ardfern, Leith
A new project for 2024 from local chef Roberta Hall-McCarron, Ardfern sits next to her flagship The Little Chartroom in Edinburgh’s renowned foodie suburb. A café in the day, the place transforms into a wine bar and small-plates eatery in the evening, with each well-priced dish coming with a warm, comforting deliciousness.Fish Shop, Ballater
The best seafood restaurants often adhere to the maxim that less is more – and so it is with this loveable operation located lose to Balmoral Castle and the Cairngorms. The fish and shellfish are invariably of excellent quality and the kitchen has the good sense to let them shine; the cooking of the ingredients is spot-on and any accompaniments are finely judged.Republic of Ireland
Baba’de, Baltimore
One of County Cork’s most famous chefs, Ahmet Dede, has expanded his reach within this lovely coastal town. Alongside his flagship Two-Star restaurant, Chef Dede now runs this informal operation that delivers the same blend of Turkish flavours and Irish produce, with a more comforting, homely feel to it.![Wine bar daróg in Galway has had a great year, winning both a Bib Gourmand and Special Award. © daróg](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/ba16ab3616fc4817af3add0c89782034_darog_New_Bibs.jpeg)
daróg, Galway
You’ll find few more welcoming places than this passionately run little wine bar, where the thoughtfully curated list is matched by the precision and flavour of the enticing small plates. To make the daróg team’s year even better, their Sommelier and Owner Zsolt Lukács has been awarded the MICHELIN Sommelier Award.Northern Ireland
mrDeanes, Belfast
Northern Ireland’s new Bib Gourmand for 2025 comes from one of its greatest chefs. Michael Deane restaurants are a staple of the Belfast dining scene and this thriving operation inside the former Eipic premises is a celebration of cuisines from all over the world. Whether it’s a steak or a curry, it will be executed with aplomb and won’t break the bank.Wales
Heathcock, Cardiff
It’s no surprise that multiple Bib Gourmand restaurants are often run by the same teams – experienced operators who know exactly how to find the centre of the quality-value Venn diagram. So it is with Heathcock, another venture from the team behind Hare & Hounds and The Clifton – which is similarly about quality ingredients used in their entirety and with a minimum of fuss. All the Winners from The Ceremony

THE SCHELLY, Ambleside
The brothers behind the nearby Old Stamp House (proud holder of One MICHELIN Star) run this bright and buzzing restaurant that’s proudly local in its outlook. The Lake District’s abundance of brilliant produce powers the menu, with each dish so appetising and so satisfyingly executed that choosing what to order will be the hardest part of your visit.Engine Social Dining, Sowerby Bridge
There’s something so fun and thrilling about globally minded restaurants like Engine Social Dining. On its menu, you could happily visit three different continents in as many dishes, all of which would be represented by a sensibly priced, flavour-packed dish. Taking influences from all over the world is an enticing approach but can be hard to pull off – luckily, the team here have plenty of skill.Bavette, Horsforth
Authentic French bistro cuisine has landed on Leeds’s doorstep in the form of this friendly neighbourhood spot where the classical dishes have a rustic, hearty quality yet are always executed with impressive care. The Gallic-themed décor adds to the sense that you could have been transported to the streets of Paris.![The 'menu du jour' at Wildebeest offers exceptional value for money. © Tori O'Connor](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/8eef3f3768c4479f802573b92ab444a1_Wildebeest_New_Bibs.jpg)
Riverine Rabbit, Birmingham
The Birmingham dining scene continues to grow this year with two more Bib Gourmands for its lineup. The first is this terrific counter restaurant in the suburb of Stirchley. Each plate is a vibrant joy to eat, while the whole experience guarantees a fun night out. It’s no surprise that Chef-Owner Ash Valenzuela-Heeger is also the recipient of this year’s MICHELIN Young Chef Award.Tropea, Birmingham
Birmingham’s second new ‘Bib’ is a well-priced celebration of classical Italian cooking. That means simple, ingredient-led dishes and high-quality homemade pastas – which can all be enjoyed in a buzzing environment with relaxed, welcoming service. The great value extends to the Italian wine list and the kitchen’s generosity means you certainly won’t leave here hungry.Wildebeest, Stoke Holy Cross
The Norfolk dining scene has a new Bib Gourmand to add to its awards in the form of this deservedly popular spot where seemingly straightforward dishes are executed with great care and skill so that they are eminently satisfying. The ‘menu du jour’ is where the best value is to be found, and the best thing is that it’s available at almost every service.![The Peacock Inn is the kind of dining pub we'd all like to have close by. © Peacock Inn](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/abbeb82271c54feba1a66fc87696a0a1_Peacock_Inn_New_Bibs.jpg)
Peacock Inn, Chelsworth
A good dining pub is worth its weight in gold – so the residents of the south-Suffolk village of Chelsworth can feel fortunate to have this lovely 14th-century inn on their doorstep. The range of menus includes brilliant-value options and the skill present in the cooking is clear to see. The service team play their part too, putting everyone at ease with their warm and friendly manner.Goat On The Roof, Newbury
A trip to the picturesque North Wessex Downs would be nicely complemented by a visit to this bright and airy bistro. The elegant yet colourful décor has completely transformed the former banking hall premises, while the cooking offers brilliant value for money and there’s something for everyone on a menu self-described as ‘British tapas’.Horse & Groom, Bourton-on-the-Hill
Pretty Cotswolds pubs are ten-a-penny, but few of them have cooking as delicious and as generous as this. The renovated 19th-century space is as attractive as you’d expect, but it’s the robustly flavoured, traditional British dishes that really stick in the memory. Plenty of deals and themed nights add to the appeal, like ‘steak and a pint’ for £20 on Mondays.![Tare Bistro forms part of Bristol's foodie hotspot of Wapping Wharf. © B Nash](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/8e8a54ffff1347ab8253c5eceb7aadf3_Tare_Bistro_New_Bibs.jpeg)
Little Hollows Pasta, Bristol
There are few more comforting culinary joys than a good bowl of pasta. Simply delicious and deliciously simple, a top pasta restaurant is something to treasure. Lucky Redland, then, having this terrific operation amongst its dining scene. The pasta is made fresh every morning and the results are simply wonderful.OTHER, Bristol
The second in a trio of new Bristol Bib Gourmands, OTHER serves the kind of food that Chef-Owner Zak Hitchman loves to cook. That means a globally influenced, constantly changing selection of snacks and sharing plates all shot through with an original streak and a penchant for the bold – which is reflected in the dining room’s eye-catching, bright-orange walls.Tare Bistro, Bristol
The foodie hotspot of Bristol’s Wapping Wharf continues on its brilliant trajectory with this reincarnation of the former Tare restaurant that operated in this same set of shipping containers. Now a more relaxed and attractively priced affair, Tare Bistro is a Bib Gourmand through and through, thanks to straightforward dishes that demonstrate the kitchen’s technical prowess and knack for flavours.![Having lunch at Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a delightful all-round experience. © Zara Whitfield](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/b51fbb42d4004007bab9828d67b62476_Pythouse_Kitchen_Garden_New_Bibs.jpg)
Briar, Bruton
This little pocket of Somerset continues to be a haven for food-lovers, thanks in part to the charms of this welcoming restaurant that’s guaranteed to brighten your mood. The service team are wonderful and the sharing plates are bright, fresh and so packed with flavour you’ll be wishing you could come here every week – especially at these prices.Pythouse Kitchen Garden, Tisbury
As the winner of both a Bib Gourmand and a Green Star this year, Pythouse Kitchen Garden becomes the only restaurant in the selection to hold this dual distinction. It’s a true credit to the team that their cooking is as sustainable as it is great value, with the garden-grown ingredients of excellent quality and the wood-fired cooking showing real skill.North Street Kitchen, Fowey
Exactly the kind of restaurant you want to find at the coast, North Street Kitchen offers cooking firmly based on the day’s catch. This means that the menu varies constantly, but what you can be sure of is quality ingredients, from oysters to mackerel, in appropriately pared-back dishes. The Inspectors loved the signature brown crab rarebit too!argoe, Newlyn
Another seafood-centric spot, argoe is co-owned by a fishmonger and shares North Street Kitchen’s penchant for simple, sensibly priced fish and shellfish. Here, much of the locally caught produce is cooked over the grill and the resulting dishes always allow the pure, natural flavours of the fresh ingredients to shine.London
![It's been a great year for Korean food in London, including a Bib Gourmand for Miga in Hackney. © Minu Han](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/9c41c2c9d5ad478cbe34277551e1f548_Miga_New_Bibs.jpg)
Mambow, Clapton
One of two Malaysian restaurants receiving a Bib Gourmand this year, Mambow is another brilliant showcase for a cuisine that has often been overlooked in the UK and Ireland. Sharing plates is the way to go here, allowing you to try as many of the no-holds-barred, boldly flavoured dishes as possible. Natural wines play a big role too, and there’s an earnest, authentic feel to the place.Miga, Hackney
Korean food in London is having a bit of a moment right now, thanks to the MICHELIN Star awarded to DOSA and the thoroughly deserved Bib Gourmand for this immediately likeable spot. Miga is a homely, low-key place that comes with all the earnest warmth of a proper family-run restaurant – plus an array of immensely satisfying dishes, of course.Morchella, Islington
The ideal Bib Gourmand for wine-lovers, Morchella operates as both a bar and restaurant, with an intriguing wine list that focuses on natural options and lesser-known producers. The drinks are as appealingly priced as the food, which consists of Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates that pack in plenty of flavour. Our Inspectors especially loved the hake with a rich ‘squid bolognaise’.![Soho's Kingly Court has a new Bib Gourmand in the form of Donia. © Matthew S Weller](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/87f8df4de3e3451ea1d72915305ba5e2_Donia_New_Bibs.jpg)
July, Bloomsbury
Providing a dose of proper hospitality, July is a terrific addition to the already-packed Charlotte Street dining scene. The bistro environs hint at the menu’s French slant, which is specifically Alsatian in influence, and each seemingly simple dish shines thanks to the underlying quality of its ingredients. The genuine, enthusiastic service will ensure you leave with a smile on your face.Donia, Soho
Filipino food has been rightly thrust into the spotlight by this endearing little restaurant on the top floor of Kingly Court – something of a haven for London’s food-lovers. British produce underpins the menu, but it’s the signature flavours of the Philippines that take precedence, with some lip-smacking sweet-and-sour combinations proving particularly satisfying. The Hero, Maida Vale
Anyone who has been to The Hero and enjoyed its resolutely unfussy, mightily impressive pub cooking won’t be surprised to hear of its new Bib Gourmand status. Run by the same team as fellow Bibs The Pelican and The Bull, it’s an object lesson in how to refurbish an old boozer and turn it into a top neighbourhood eatery.![London's Greek cuisine has been given a shot in the arm by the arrival of OMA and AGORA. © Gilles Draps](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/7b51a7f5ad8b4b55b2c0eec284d08e28_AGORA_New_Bibs.jpg)
Josephine Bouchon, Chelsea
The Lyonnaise concept of the bouchon was transported to London in 2024 by one of the French city’s most famous culinary sons: Claude Bosi. The renowned chef has brought a combination of his personal history and his enormous top-level experience to this lively restaurant – resulting in irresistible renditions of Gallic classics.AGORA, Borough Market
It’s been a great year for Jorge Paredes, the chef behind the Borough Market duo of OMA and AGORA. The former has become London’s only MICHELIN-Star Greek restaurant, while the latter is a Bib Gourmand recipient for its hugely enjoyable take on a ‘souvla bar’. The skewers, dips and flatbreads are all excellent – and come at a very appealing price.![Kolae is one of several brilliant eateries around the bustling Borough Market. © Ben Broomfield](https://d3h1lg3ksw6i6b.cloudfront.net/media/image/2025/02/06/7aa1e942df5c4e33aeece4e8dcf8efb9_Kolae_New_Bibs.jpg)
Kolae, Borough Market
London’s Thai food enthusiasts – and there are many – rejoiced when Kolae opened its doors on the edge of Borough Market. The lip-tingling flavours of Southeast Asia are here for all to enjoy in a relaxed setting that benefits from the buzz of its open kitchen. The set menu is where the best value lies – with a terrific vegan version available too.Artusi, Peckham
It’s hard to find somebody who doesn’t love a great-value Italian – which makes Artusi all the more valuable within the London restaurant scene. The setting is simple and unpretentious, as are the relaxed service and seasonally minded cooking. Homemade pasta is the main attraction and, when it’s as good as this, you wouldn’t want to order anything else.Mignonette, Richmond
Intimate little bistros often make great Bib Gourmands, with their personal touch and generous, full-flavoured cooking. Mignonette is a prime example, providing its south-London residents with straightforward French fare that blends heartiness with strong classical technique. Anywhere that serves a £20 lunch menu in 2025 London is to be applauded, especially with cooking of this quality.Full List of Bib Gourmands 2025
