MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
The same team behind Kosaka has leveled the playing field by throwing open the doors of this more casual yet equally delightful iteration. The space is fitted out with counters inside, while outdoor dining is abuzz during warmer weather. The carte is affordable and especially appealing, as evidenced by the routine lineup of diners.
There are two set items on the menu, the grab handroll (their unique take) and the temaki handroll. Some offerings include an excellent deep-fried Chilean sea bass with ginger tartare and a finely chopped bluefin toro topped with a quenelle of caviar and a few petals of uni. Dessert plays an important role here, and one bite of the buttery hazelnut cookies topped with light caramel and fleur de sel proves why.
