It would be hard for a hotel in Budapest to find a location more central than Clark Ádám Square, with its stately 19th-century buildings — and you don’t have to be an architectural historian to note that one of these buildings is decidedly modern in aspect. This is the Hotel Clark, a contemporary luxury boutique hotel right at the heart of classic Budapest — literally between the famous Chain Bridge over the Danube and the Castle Hill funicular.
Its interiors are less minimalistic than its understated façade, but they’re no less contemporary. There’s a sense of postmodern whimsy about the lobby and the public spaces, but they’re elegant at the same time, while the rooms playfully incorporate a touch of Art Deco and some contemporary graphic elements. Many rooms feature views of the Danube, which is hard to improve upon.
The hotel’s restaurant, Leo Bistro, serves modern international fare, while the Clark’s rooftop bar is one of Budapest’s most impressive social spaces, with some of the most picturesque views in town.
