It’s billed as “a gallery where you can spend the night,” and each of its 50 rooms (some of which share centrally located baths) has been painstakingly created by an artist. Most are recommissioned every two to five years to keep the art current — as of this writing, guests can pick from unique designs like a three-dimensional reproduction of Carl Spitzweg’s The Poor Poet, and a tribute to Edward Hopper. In the lobby, you’ll find sculptures and installations, as well as a bookstore specializing in Berlin’s art and architecture.

The hotel is in a central location optimal for visiting and just five minutes from a overground train station with direct trains for the airport. It is very welcoming and clean, with beautiful staircases. Our room at second floor had wooden floor, was very spacious, and had comfortable bed. Also, acoustically insulated. Next visit to Berlin I will book there again.
