Overtown is a neighborhood rich with art, history and culture. Fittingly, this vibrant dining room celebrates it all through its food. Decorative elements, like a horseshoe-shaped bar, Moroccan tiles and leafy plants, convey a tropical feel; while sculptures curated by the Pérez Art Museum in Miami are an art historian's dream.
Chef Tristen Epps is of Trinidadian background and puts his own unique stamp on the cooking of Chef Marcus Samuelsson's enticing concept. The results are extraordinary - Wagyu oxtail, anyone? He might then take chicken and waffles on a spin with crispy yard bird, while the spice-rubbed avocado toast elevates the American standby to inventive heights. Cookies and cream cake, with buttercream and Oreos, is indulgence epitomized.
