In the heart of Andalusia, surrounded by the green hills of the Sierra de Loja, Finca La Bobadilla sprawls over a thousand-acre estate in the manner of a Moorish village, all whitewashed buildings, winding paths and courtyard after courtyard connected by arched walkways. This is one of the finest hotels in the Spanish countryside, a luxe escape for travelers from all over Europe and beyond, with faultless service of the old school, and the sort of discreet privacy that goes along with it.

The rooms and suites are vast, and all are lavishly furnished and come with balconies or terraces overlooking the inner courtyards or the picturesque Andalusian landscape. Often the measure of a luxury hotel is in the bathrooms, and these ones more than pass muster, elegant, with plenty of space and deep soaking tubs, some with views. And the relaxation doesn’t end there — the hotel’s spa is highly regarded, and uses Natura Bissé and Massada products.

Two tennis courts, two pools, and a fitness center round out the leisure facilities; activities range from yoga to cycling and horseback riding. Nor are the culinary arts neglected: El Mirador is the more casual of the two restaurants, set alongside the hotel’s gardens and pools, while the gastronomic restaurant, La Finca, has been recognized with a MICHELIN Star.
