JAPATAPA TOSHIBAR

Japatapa Toshibar is tucked away in a side street near Münchner Freiheit in the Schwabing district. Having formerly run the restaurant Toshi for a long time, owners Toshio and Tamiko Kobatake are no strangers to Munich's gastronomy scene. The small space, in which you sit at the counter or a small table, is done out in a minimalist style. Kobatake's cuisine is authentically Japanese: you should definitely try the tasty sushi, but dishes such as onsen egg with caviar and dashi broth or black cod grilled with saikyo miso are also tempting. The proprietress provides discreet and friendly service, and there is a good selection of wines as well as an impressive number of sakes.
