MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

The views are breathtaking, especially at sunset, and the interior is gracefully understated – but neither outshine the food created by chef Hidemichi Seki. He was born to a family that ran a Chinese restaurant and Chinese influences manifest themselves in some of his dishes, such as anago cooked in Shaoxing wine. The 10- to 12-course Kaiseki menu changes every season; most ingredients are shipped from Japan while the rest are sourced from local organic farms.
