Michelin unveiled the restaurants in the 2018 guide for Germany, with one new three-starred entrant added to the list: Atelier, a fine-dining establishment in Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich.
Says Michael Ellis, international director of the MICHELIN guides: "In just three years, Chef Jan HARTWIG has given his cuisine a very personal signature. The dishes he offers stand out with their deep and complex flavours, their intelligent compositions combined with remarkable technical skills." Germany currently has 11 three Michelin-starred restaurants spread throughout the country.
Four new restaurants also obtained two Michelin stars this year: Keilings Restaurant in Bad Bentheim in Lower Saxony, Schwarzenstein - Nils Henkel in the Rheingau region, Le Cerf in Baden-Württemberg, and Courtier in Wangels, a small town in Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany.

Vegetarian cuisine also gets a nod in this year's red guide, as two new one Michelin-starred restaurants, Seven Swans in Frankfurt and Cookies Cream in Berlin, offer exclusively vegetarian menus.
