Voco Hangzhou Binjiang Minghao stands alongside some stiff competition, and provides an alternative for design-minded travelers who aren’t quite in the market for the extravagant luxury resorts in and around West Lake. Like all of its siblings, it offers a reasonably stylish and reasonably luxurious experience, without crossing over into either avant-garde experiment or hyper-luxe opulence. A spa, a fitness center, and an indoor pool are among the hotel’s substantial common spaces, as are the Lobby Lounge and two restaurants: the relatively self-explanatory Min Café Western Restaurant and Mingxuange, serving Hangzhou and Cantonese cuisines.
