MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This established ryotei is tucked away in an area associated with Genya Okamoto, doctor to the House of Tokugawa in the Edo period, and known as the setting of the kabuki play Yowanasake Ukinano Yokogushi. The star of the menu is soup made from flavoursome kombu and katsuo dashi. The kimono-clad proprietress and waitresses provide hospitable service in this exquisite restaurant built in the sukiya-style.
