MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This restaurant is in a remodelled sumo stable that produced wrestlers like grand champion Kitanoumi. It’s run by a former ozeki, the second-highest rank, from the stable. The ‘Tori Tsukune Shoyu Chanko’ features kombu and katsuo sauce with chicken meatballs from fowls slaughtered that morning and lots of vegetables. Try the ‘Rikishi Miso’ and the garlic-flavoured ‘Sumobeya no Katsuo no Tataki’. When sumo matches are held in Tokyo, it gets crowded so book early.
