MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
Sequestered within the sprawling Le District, L'Appart is not so much a dining room as a crown jewel. Designed to resemble a Parisian apartment, a meal here feels like attending a dinner party. You will be handed a drink as you enter, and with such a small space, your every move is watched. The team clearly makes use of the surrounding boulangerie, fromagerie, poissoinnerie and boucherie, thereby pushing the barriers of classic French cuisine.
Kick off with artistic canapés that warm up your taste buds. Then it's on to the entrées made using all manner of modern technique. Think panko-crusted scallop with beurre blanc; or sweetbreads with shiitake mushrooms. Flavors are unapologetically rich but always on point—as in the mini praline soufflé with praline ice cream.
