Despite its name the China World Summit Wing Beijing isn’t just one wing of a hotel, but a self-contained, fantastically luxurious Shangri-La hotel, occupying the top floors of the China World tower, the capital’s tallest skyscraper. You’re on the 64th floory by the time you get to the lobby, and the infinity pool, set on the 78th floor, comes with impossibly far-ranging views. Rooms start out very large indeed and only get better from there; the décor is contemporary, but soothing, and the comforts are first-rate. There’s an enormous spa as well as six restaurants and three bars, and the rest of the vast China World Trade Center development, with its near-endless retail, dining, and entertainment offerings, is just an elevator ride away.
