The Japan House cultural centre is a celebration of all things Japanese, so it’s appropriate that upstairs there’s a stylish, buzzing restaurant revelling in the country’s cuisine. The open kitchen is the focal point of the room, which offers both counter and table seating from which to enjoy the extensive selection of Japanese food. There’s a wide range of sushi, but the highlight may well be a skewer from the robata charcoal grill, whether it's asparagus, chicken thigh or miso pork belly that's getting the grilled treatment. At lunchtime, choose between two sizes of 'hakozen' box.
