Tougher restrictions have come into place in Scotland, with 11 local authorities now operating under level four restrictions, meaning that restaurants in these areas have once more had to close their doors.
Although restaurants in the lower tiers are able to open, many of them are still subject to strict curfews and rules concerning numbers of diners and the serving of alcohol.
We therefore wanted to highlight all the restaurants with Michelin Stars and Bib Gourmands currently providing takeaway and/or delivery in Scotland, with details of their offering. Please be aware that this information is subject to change.
This pretty little crofter’s cottage is currently in Level 1 so continues to open 3 nights a week: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays until 10.30pm. They are also offering a weekly changing Saturday night take away, @ The Bay Window, which should be pre-ordered before 7pm on the Friday for collection between 5pm and 8pm on Saturday.
This popular Stockbridge spot is open for takeaway and local deliveries, with specialities prepared for collection and delivery Thursday-Saturday. Seasonal dishes mix Scottish and Mediterranean influences and, as owner Campbell Mickel has recently taken over Eddie's Seafood Market, you can expect plenty of top class seafood too.
It’s open for lunch and is also offering Scran at Home – a range of dishes for collection or delivery – seven days a week. Order online for pick up/delivery 5-9pm Monday-Friday and 12-9pm at the weekend. Choices could include chicken liver parfait, steak pie or gnocchi & blue cheese gratin, with desserts like blackberry and pear cheesecake, and kids’ dishes and drinks too.
This delightful neighbourhood restaurant is currently offering At Home with Monadh: a range of dishes collected or delivered cold for you to store and use when required. Orders can be placed on the day or ordered in advance for delivery 11am-5pm, Friday-Sunday. There’s also a four-course menu for two, which comes with a bottle of wine.
Currently open for lunch seven days a week, while ‘BB at Home’ shares the restaurant’s ‘nature to plate’ ethos, championing seasonal produce from local producers. Most dishes are served hot and ready to eat; some – like the steak pie – can be collected cold for reheating at home. Food is available for collection or delivery 5pm-9pm Monday-Friday, and 12- 9pm at the weekend.
Still open for lunch and early dinner, family-run Provender is also offering a collection service 7 days a week (Monday to Thursday 3:30pm - 9pm; Friday and Saturday 10am - 9pm, and Sunday 10am - 5pm). From Haggis bon bons or burgers to Borders partridge & confit legs or Tandoori spiced monkfish & mussel curry, there’s something for everyone – with kids’ options and freshly made cocktails too.
