The Bib Gourmand might be lesser-known than the Michelin Star, but it's very popular among our regular readers. The award is all about celebrating good food at great prices and highlights restaurants who work hard to offer generous, flavoursome, high-quality cuisine with a price tag that makes it accessible to all – and that's no mean feat in the current climate.
The recent MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Great Britain and Ireland saw 36 new Bib Gourmands announced, with five of those taking up residence in Scotland, including two in Glasgow, the ceremony's host city. These new 'Bibs', Margo and GaGa, join three existing Bib Gourmand restaurants – Celentano's, Ka Pao and Ox and Finch – who all retain their award for another year.
Both Ka Pao and Ox and Finch form part of the same restaurant group as Margo, so we caught up with Jonathan MacDonald, Owner of Scoop Restaurants, and Robin Aitken, Head Chef at Margo, to find out more about their newly awarded Bib Gourmand restaurant and to hear why they think dining out in Glasgow is so unique.
